Building cities with sticks

We promised good news for the Lethis universe this year, well it’s time to deliver:
Lethis – Path of Progress is coming to Nintendo Switch!

The port was handled by our buddies at Seaven Studio, who had to fight with the mess that is the engine of the game to make this happen.

Look! It’s the same game, but on Switch! Also I forgot a hedge.

We’re pleasantly surprised by the controls, we didn’t know what to expect at first, but I had the opportunity to play a complete run of the campaign on portable mode, and, well, everything works perfectly!
I did a pass on difficulty, and a few adjustments, and overall, it’s really nice to be able to build cities while waiting for the bus, or whenever/wherever you use your own switch

The game looks as beautiful as always, it’s still a joy after 4 years to watch our little citizens running around, and taking so many wrong turns.

You’ll get the exact release date as soon as possible!

Have fun and see you on Discord,

Sinsem

So you abandoned Lethis 2 to work on Lethis 1 for Switch. I remember a similar situation with Blizzard deciding to develop Diablo on mobile rather than continue to improve Diablo 3 on PC. Nice joke saying: “Oh, and one last thing, you will hear some (good) news from the Lethis universe before the end of the year, stay tuned!”, Reminds me of: “Do you guys not have phones?”. Sorry for being so negative but it is a massive disappointment.

We were not able to get funding fort Lethis II. That game costs at least 10 times what it costed to port the first one on Switch.
The Switch port has in fact been paid for by Plug In Digital, who publish the game on the console. The technical work was handled by Seaven Studio, not us.
The two things are not mutually exclusive, if we were able to get funding for Lethis II, the port would still have happened.
But we got funding for another game, so that’s the one we’re making. At the end of the day, this is our job, we have to get paid for it. Food is not free, rent neither. While we would have love to work on Lethis II, we cannot do it without a salary.

I understand the business decision, Anyone who was involved in running a business would agree with your choice to abandon the non-profitable project. I also understand that as a business you will pursue projects that are profitable. What I meant was that saying: “Oh, and one last thing, you will hear some (good) news from the Lethis universe before the end of the year, stay tuned!” was a bit unfortunate considering that all your customers from Lethis game were PC players. Do not understand me wrong please, I wish you all the best, I hope you will continue making great games. I was disappointed that the good news you have mentioned before was not good news at all.

What is the other game that did get funded? I’d be very excited to hear more about that! So sad to hear that Lethis 2 is not happening; I would have gladly funded that. :/

You will hear about that hopefully before the end of summer 🙂
We still cannot say more at the time.
